The Global Talent Visa Stream (Subclass 858) is a permanent visa. This visa allows applicants with internationally recognised achievements in eligible fields to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis. Due to the strict requirements of this visa, nomination is required from an eligible Australian citizen, resident, or organisation.

In order to be eligible for the Global Talent Visa Stream (Subclass 858) visa, you must:
- be nominated by an Australian citizen or permanent resident, an eligible New Zealand citizen, or an Australian organisation with a reputation in your field
- be internationally recognised with a clear record of your achievements in a profession, a sport, the arts, or academia and research
- provide proof that you will be able to find work in your field in Australia
- meet minimum English language and health requirements
- have no outstanding debts to the Australian GovernmentÂ
- have not previously had a cancelled or refused Australian visa.
